Responsibilities
The Project Estimator is primarily responsible for client communications, design development/management, budgeting, estimating, procurement, preliminary construction scheduling, job phasing and project buyout in conjunction with the Estimating & Project Management Team(s).3

Project Estimators must look professional, be honest, have integrity, and assure that our projects are developed with a high degree of quality. Conversations and communications must be carried out in a respectful, appropriate, and professional manner.4
Daily Expectations
Project Estimators establish regular meetings with their clients and architect teams throughout the pre-construction phase. The Project Estimator leads these meetings for all Design/Build projects where design progress, milestone schedule, changes, and budget are established, tracked and discussed.5
Software & Training
Catalyst uses ProCore project management software, BlueBeam takeoff software, Pipeline
Suite IT software & Excel estimating sheets on most of our projects. Project Estimators need
to become proficient with the use of each of these programs for the ultimate success of their projects.6
Proficiencies
You will need to understand architectural and structural details and become familiar with MEP details and systems. Project Estimators are responsible to perform constructability reviews throughout the design phase and make recommendations to the design team and the client regarding any potential value engineering solutions or design changes needed to correctly detail and/or clarify construction scopes of work for the ultimate success of the project.
